Disclosure

11 02 2010

Before I start to discuss specific stocks, I think that it would be proper for me to explain my investment portfolio and disclose any positions I have. On January 4th, 2010, I sold my position in NutriSystems (NTRI) for an annualized gain of 43.7% over the last year and a half (excluding dividends). On the same date, I sold my position in Coach (COH) for an annualized gain of 10.9% over the past two years. Each stock constituted 1/3 of my portfolio, with the remaining 1/3 still invested in Stanley Works (SWK). Right now, my total cash balance is $6,236.30 with another $2,005.00 invested in SWK at $47.50 a share. My entire portfolio marked-to-market  is worth $8509.76.

For the purposes of this blog, February 10th, 2010 will be the birth of the Reason Investor portfolio. The success of an investment strategy should be measured over the long term, so there will be little discussion of portfolio performance until the annual report in 2011.
